Farming for over 150 years

Passion for growing good food and bringing families together to enjoy it

For over six generations, the Trax family has passed down the importance of quality, tradition and family. That’s probably why we’re one of the oldest and most-awarded fruit and vegetable farms in Pittsburgh and the South Hills. Although we’ve been farming for over 150 years, we still have that passion for growing good food to eat and bringing families together to enjoy them. From our perfectly grown sweet corn to our Fresh-Baked, Homemade Pies or our delicious selection of convenient Homemade Deli Salads, nothing brings the family together like great-tasting food. In the fall, your family will love our fresh-pressed cider, the Best Apple Cider in Pittsburgh. We make sure your family will find something to love at Trax no matter the time of the year. As farmers, we never get tired of the simple but satisfying pleasure of knowing what we picked this morning is what you’ll be serving this evening.

  • We love Trax Farms! We go there often. Cute shop and great produce. The only downside is that they no longer do curbside orders. That was very convenient. They are are also not enforcing any COVID precautions from what I saw.

Spent a lovely Saturday here going on a hay ride, picking pumpkins, wandering around the corn maze, and petting animals. We had some delicious apple cider and apple dumplings and bought a few veggies to take home. I was pleasantly surprised by the prices-pumpkins and produce were much cheaper than I expected. The pumpkins were gorgeous. We interacted with many employees and all of them were so friendly and helpful! I got a lemon verbena plant and a lady that worked there stopped to chat about the plant and told me about a lemon tea recipe to try. I was also happy to see that the farm animals appeared to be extremely happy and well cared for. They had sheep, pigs, mini cows, goats, and alpacas and they all had giant piles of good looking hay, fresh clean water, and well-built shelters. Visiting Trax Farms will definitely become a fall tradition.

Such a charming place. Pricy yes. But its not like your going every week, so it's okay. It's something special. We got two puzzles, a cat towel and a cat mug. I love cats? We wanted to do the hay ride but didn't want to wait an hour. They recommended buying the day before or more in advance.
It's just a magical place. My boyfriend and I can't wait to go back to see if if it's open for Christmas trees!!

Wonderful autumn experience for the family. They have a huge market with all the things you'd expect (fruit, bread, pastry, etc), thousands and thousands of pumpkins (all different shapes, sizes, and colors). But the real delight is in the experiences - hayrides, petting animals, a corn maze, etc. It's worth the drive for an autumn family day. Perhaps a seasonal tradition.

My family and I love Trax farm ! We come here every year for all the fall activities! Some of the fall activities include the hayride , which takes you up on the hill to the pumpkin patch where you could pick your own pumpkin. They also had fun activities that you pay cash for, such as an art project , train rides, giant jumper thing, and a rockwall ! They also had tons of food options and the popcorn stands and some food trucks as well .

The produce is excellent! It's a country store with a huge selection of everything fun and good. I got my favorite Rambo apples, they're hard to find.

  • I love coming here for the fresh veggies and fruit.
Funny thing, all the years we've been coming here and this is the first time I've noticed the deli. 🤦‍♀️
The outside plants were absolutely beautiful. So full of color.

The plants are stunning. So much to choose from. We picked out a nice hanging basket, with help from an employee. He gave us advice on how to care for it. The veggies are plentiful and fresh. Picked up a few grocery items also. Everyone is very helpful

July 5th and they started putting out the Halloween mechandise! Perfect store to get really unique Halloween finds. Although, sometimes the prices are a bit too high. Look for the Caramel Puffincorn. It's like Halloween in your mouth! The antique loft is great for unique finds year round!
